May 21, 2026 - Il Sorpasso
Our May movie will be 1962's Italian road comedy, "Il Sorpasso". Two unlikely companions, Bruno and Roberto, travel from Rome to Tuscany during an August heatwave. Many directors cite this film as an inspiration (Scorsese's "The Color of Money", Dennis Hopper's, "Easy Rider", Alexander Payne's, "Sideways") but I think it's one that a lot of people have missed.
